Tythe sits on the edge of the Cotswolds in rural Oxfordshire – an estate with roots in the Domesday Book that has been in the Deeley family for over 500 years. Set on a working farm, it’s only 50 minutes from London yet feels like a proper escape. Exclusively hired for multi-night stays, the estate, all open fields and grazing livestock, unfolds at its own pace. At its heart, a collection of restored 14th-century barns and an elegant 17th-century farmhouse open onto a walled garden, a Shepherd’s Hut, a wood-fired sauna cabin and a tennis court with views across open countryside. Ceremony settings range from beneath the oak beams of the Thatched Barn to a wisteria-draped pergola, along an avenue of silver birch trees, or a 12th-century village church at the end of the garden path. The award-winning catering team works with seasonal, local produce – from flame-grilled canapés to feasting tables and wood-fired pizzas – for up to 150 at dinner and upwards of 200 in the evening, where guests enjoy orchard-grown cocktails under festooned skies. Accommodation sleeps 24, rising to 30 by summer 2026. Tythe embodies all the best superlatives: heritage without stiffness, luxury without show.
