A quintessentially English setting for a luxury wedding, Trinity House on London’s Tower Hill has been hosting ceremonies for more than 30 years. The working home of the General Lighthouse Authority for England and Wales, this Georgian gem holds a treasure trove of maritime art and artefacts – among them the brass bell of the Royal Yacht Britannia – and has appeared in numerous film and television productions. Five rooms, four with views of the Tower of London, offer height, light, space and flexible seating formats for weddings of all sizes. The Library is the main ceremony space, with crystal chandeliers, heritage stained-glass panels, a silver display cabinet of important silver and a minstrels’ gallery, while The Court Room is distinguished by its high ceilings and nautical trompe l’oeil. Polished tables and crested chairs are included in the venue hire, as is optional use of a ceremonial sword to cut the cake. These two rooms are licensed for ceremonies – capacity runs to 130 seated or 180 standing – and the house is let on an exclusive-use basis only, ensuring total privacy. New this year, the House is offering an exclusive-use three-hour civil ceremony on a dry hire basis: £2,500 plus VAT on weekdays and £3,000 at weekends (2-5pm), with two waiters, glassware and no corkage included. Do also look out for their wedding showcase.
We had a truly amazing wedding ceremony at Trinity House. The venue was stunning, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the building. Thank you and Antonella for all your help throughout the entire process. We felt completely relaxed in your capable hands and truly appreciate everything you did for us. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, you were always there to answer our questions and offer advice for which we were very grateful.
