The Grand Hotel Birmingham is a landmark 19th-century wedding venue sitting on Colmore Row in the centre of the city. A Victorian marvel designed by Thomson Plevins, the hotel has old Hollywood appeal – think a major marble staircase, ornate plasterwork and Corinthian pilaster – and esteemed alumni, including Winston Churchill and Charlie Chaplin. The hotel was recently updated with a generous £50m restoration; the Grand Ballroom accommodates 300 guests for a reception with elemental grandeur: a listed Louis XIV-style interior, original art deco chandeliers, and double-height windows. For your sit-down wedding breakfast, a dedicated in-house wedding specialist will work with you to tailor the menu, delivered by the hotel’s chefs that interpret the best of British with French flair, and organise trusted local suppliers, including tried-and-tested singers, bands and DJs on hand to entertain. For smaller weddings, the hotel offers packages that comfortably accommodate a champagne drinks reception, canapés, a three-course wedding breakfast, evening snacks, and a honeymoon night in one of their suites, which boasts a classic four-poster, city views, and even in-room ‘I am Yogi’ yoga sessions from a local instructor. And with its enviable central location, The Grand Hotel has a seamless transport offering out-of-towners will greatly appreciate.
We had the best day ever and it’s largely thanks to you and everyone at The Grand who went above and beyond for us. From our operation meeting the evening before to the day itself (including the amazing food) and our night in the suite, everything was wonderful.

The day itself could not have gone better. We are so happy we chose the Grand as our venue and honestly cannot be happier with the overall experience. The staff were very helpful. The food was good both at our sit down and we had many compliments from evening guests about the buffet. Many of our family & friends thought it was such a fantastic venue. The terrace was definitely a winner! We would recommend Bianca who did the live singing sessions – she was very good!
