At Scribble & Daub, stationery is elevated to an art form: tactile, painterly, and deeply personal. Founded in 2012 by illustrator Caroline Kent, formerly a curator of contemporary art and now commissioned by houses such as Dior and Vogue, the East Sussex studio uses artisan processes, from traditional letterpress printing to brushstrokes applied by hand. The results are individualised works of art – no two are ever the same – that have been sold to the likes of Fortnum & Mason and Liberty. Produced on the finest Italian card stock, invitations are not only the first glimpse guests receive of the wedding to come but also enduring keepsakes, designed to be cherished long after the celebrations have ended. Scribble & Daub works with a deliberately limited number of couples each year, offering a highly personal, considered service that spans menus, name cards, and other keepsakes that capture Caroline’s elevated-eclectic disposition (note the lovely candy-fringe garlands and shrimp, pear, and pickle decorative gift tags). The clients who seek out Caroline’s work (often featured in Vogue weddings) are discerning and creative, drawn to her elegantly informal style that captures a playfully refined expression.
