About

Moxhull Hall makes the perennial town-or-country decision go away. It sits in nine acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, yet Birmingham is a short drive off, so you get a secluded country house without the long trek to reach it. The house is a red-brick Victorian manor, built around 1900 to entertain, and it still does. Weddings move through a run of distinct spaces: the botanical Secret Garden, with its gazebo tucked among palms and ferns; the Orangery; the panelled Oak Hall, cosy by an open fire in winter, bright in summer; and the Starlit Pavilion, where the party carries on past sunset. The grounds do the work for photographers, with Italianate gardens, fountains and mature trees. Weddings are exclusive-use, so the estate is yours for the day, and 20 individually designed bedrooms mean everyone can stay overnight. Morning preparations happen in the Den and Bridal Studio, so the day starts well before the ceremony. Food matters here: the in-house Kitchen ranges from fine dining and canapés to wood-fired pizza and relaxed evening feasts, built around the couple rather than a fixed menu. A dedicated events team runs the detail so the day feels easy.

Why Our Editor’s Love

  • Exclusively yours: the house, nine-acre estate and wedding spaces are reserved entirely for you and your guests, with 20 individually designed bedrooms for an overnight stay.
  • A space for every part of the day: from preparations in the Den and Bridal Studio and an outdoor ceremony in the Secret Garden to a late party in the Starlit Pavilion.
  • Food to match the setting: the Kitchen runs from fine dining and canapés to wood-fired pizza and relaxed evening feasts, tailored to each couple.

Testimonials

Throughout the entire process of wedding planning, the team put our worried minds at rest and always answered our questions straight away. We cannot thank you enough for being the perfect hosts of our wedding. Every single detail of the day was perfect. All of our guests commented on how fantastic the hospitality was, how attentive and welcoming the staff were, how beautiful the food was, the beauty of the venue and how relaxing the atmosphere felt the entire wedding breakfast. They commented that you could see that every single detail had been thought of and how smoothly the whole day flowed. The Starlit Pavilion gave us the best night of dancing we have ever seen. Every single part of our wedding was faultless. We are still reeling from the excitement of how perfect the experience was and how every single guest enjoyed the day as much as we did.

It isn’t just that Moxhull is a stunning house set in beautiful grounds (although it absolutely is). What really sets it apart is the extraordinary thought that the team have put into every aspect of the space so that a wedding day flows seamlessly. The grounds themselves are exquisite, with hidden pockets of beauty that feel romantic and intimate, from the peaceful bridal Studio and its walkway to the main house, to being able to end the night with a quiet drink in the bar once the Pavilion has closed. Inside, the design is simply stunning – luxurious yet warm and homely. Every single person we encountered was kind, welcoming and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. Our coordinator was calm, reassuring and wonderfully on top of everything from start to finish. Our guests are still raving about the food, our vegetarian and vegan guests said it was the best they’d ever had at a wedding. The team also handled every last-minute change and guest request with total grace and professionalism. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
