A fifteenth century estate at the foot of Assisi, Borgo Antichi Orti sits in the green heart of Umbria, with the Basilica di San Francesco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rising behind every celebration. Once a working farm, the Borgo has been restored with care for its history and the comfort of a luxury destination, its thousand square metres including parkland, hanging gardens and a pool. Couples choose from three settings for weddings: The Hortuli, ten thousand square metres of cultivated gardens, holds ceremonies and banquets for up to 200; The Pergola, framed by the rooftops of Assisi, seats 150 for dinner; Re Tartù agli Orti is a more intimate farmhouse space for around 50. An in-house planner and floral designer guide the day throughout, while the estate restaurant under chef Illaria Ripamonti, draws on Umbrian produce and tradition. Twelve individually styled residences house guests on site, with a panoramic suite kept for the couple’s first night. Proceedings can stretch into a full wedding weekend, from welcome dinner to farewell brunch. Borgo Antichi Orti hosts one wedding at a time, so every couple has the estate, in all its glory, to themselves.
