Berry Bros. & Rudd offers a characterful setting unlike any other. At No. 3 St James’s Street, just a short stroll from Buckingham Palace, this remarkable venue is the home of Britain’s oldest wine and spirits merchant. Its storied cellars provide a dramatic backdrop for celebrations: the softly lit Sussex Cellar and the magnificent Napoleon Cellar – once frequented by the little legend Louis Napoléon Bonaparte himself – can host up to 72 guests for a candlelit wedding breakfast or 120 for an elegant evening reception. The wedding breakfast itself is a highlight with bespoke seasonal menus crafted in-house by Chef Stewart Turner, who brings experience from three-Michelin-star kitchens. Naturally, nowhere is better placed for wine pairing – for those daunted by their 4,000-strong lists, don’t worry, there are Masters of Wine on hand to advise – but for all-important bubbles, think of Grand Cru Champagnes by Mailly or English Sparkling Blanc de Blancs from Hampshire. Berry Bros. weddings are guided by the hand of an expert coordinator, but even if you’re marrying elsewhere, feel free to book in for a private wine tasting – Berry Bros. & Rudd are always happily on hand to advise.
People often talk about how their planners or vendors put them at ease, but truly, we can say that they are nothing compared to the incredible service and care we received from Alice and the rest of the Berry Bros. & Rudd team. Everything was so thoughtfully managed and impeccably handled, from the flexibility around customising the menu, to the delicious food tasting along with a guided wine tasting. On the night itself, we had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding dinner they’ve ever had.

Stepping into the wine cellars at Berry Bros. & Rudd felt like a world away from the London streets above. It was funny, as we had this idea of wine cellars as dark and dingy, but instead, we were led into light, modernised and beautiful spaces.
