Bellanger brings the neighbourhood Parisian brasserie to its lucky corner of Islington. Counting The Wolseley and The Delaunay as older siblings, the Bellanger unbuttons a bit while maintaining singular polish in an Art Deco style. In Bellanger’s private room, that fits 75, you have an intimate, naturally-lit space for a wedding ceremony, panelled with wrap-around antique mirrors and mahogany parquet flooring. After, guests can spill out into the bar, ready for a Champagne toast and speeches. Food is a big pull here – just ask the Michelin Guide. French-inspired wedding breakfasts are seasonally considered, but choices include dressed Dorset crab to start, seared scallops with Crémant de Loire Beurre Blanc, and a signature Tarte Tatin to finish. There is a thoughtfully put-together wine list to boot; you can always find Château de la Mirande Picpoul de Pinet from Languedoc or a Tuscan Brunello di Montalcino from Ciacci included. Suppliers can be freely brought in to your specification, and if a gargantuan guest list is what you seek, there’s the possibility of hiring out the whole restaurant and enjoying the spoils of exclusive use.
The private room created the most intimate backdrop. The food was exceptional and every detail was handled with care.

Guests walked in and said wow. The service was flawless and the Confit de Canard was the biggest crowd-pleaser.
