Since its launch in 2017, Blackacre has quickly become the jeweller London is talking about. Known for cult bespoke engagement rings, the house design philosophy is to lead by the unique offering of the gemstone (all precious metals are 100 per cent recycled), allowing for an optimal flow of light (read: high-wattage sparkle). Founder Samuel Stirrat leads a made-to-order team in their London atelier, a few streets from the Hatton Garden diamond district, with an award-winning team of expert designers, gemmologists and jewellers. Its clientele most likely heard about Blackacre through word of mouth (though the Vogue feature might have done it); it has become the go-to for the discerning looking for a piece that combines personal details, quality craftsmanship and care throughout. Engagement rings are guaranteed to be singular; designs can incorporate personalised touches, like sculpted initials and/or a secret stone. The brand’s commitment to sustainability and transparency is particularly laudable in an otherwise opaque industry: the team produces documentary-style feature films that trace the sourcing process for precious stones, most recently charting low-impact mining in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. And last year, Blackacre became the first and only UK-based jewellery to garner B-Corp status.
Exceptional from start to finish. Craftsmanship second to none and care that made the journey unforgettable.
